As a San Diego-based, California-licensed psychotherapist, I assist my clients in achieving their goals and becoming the men and women they want to be. I love my work and am committed to my clients' personal growth. I work well with motivated, higher functioning individuals and couples committed to their growth and development. I specialize in the following areas:

Individual (1-to-1) Therapy

  • anxiety, worry and panic attacks
  • self-esteem and assertiveness
  • recovery from physical, verbal and/or sexual abuse
  • sex and sexuality
  • depression, grief and loss
  • addictive behavior (e.g., sex, eating, workaholism, overspending)
  • somatic relational psychotherapy (Bioenergetics)

Relationship Therapy:

A good relationship is like a precious jewel and should be treated that way.  If you and your partner have drifted apart, are taking each other for granted, or are having the same arguments over-and-over again, relationship therapy can make the difference between giving up and working through the obstacles.  In our work together, I can help you and your partner to deepen your relationship and create a new level of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Free Telephone Consultation:

I offer potential clients - both individuals and couples - a free telephone consultation so you can ask me any questions you may have before scheduling your first session.

My Office:

My practice is located in the Kensington area of San Diego, at the intersection of Marlborough Drive and Hilldale Road (north of Adams Avenue). There is plenty of free street parking.  The office is easily accessible from the 8 and 15 freeways.

Publications, Workshops & the Evening News:

I write the "Life Beyond Therapy" column for the Gay & Lesbian Times (San Diego, California), the Erie Gay News (Erie, Pennsylvania), the Gayzette (Lincoln, Nebraska), The Letter (Louisville, Kentucky), Out & About (Nashville, Tennessee) and Out in America (nationally syndicated).  I am also a contributor to Instinct magazine (national), Lavender Lens magazine (San Diego) and the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper, as well as a psychological consultant to San Diego's Channel 6 NewsI wrote the "QPsych" column for The Bottom Line magazine (Palm Springs) and Buzz magazine (San Diego) from 2006-2009.
